Thinking

Post by LieLongandProsper » Mon Sep 18, 2017 4:05 am

Wondering if there is 'such a thing' as 'reading addiction'. And if so what is different of this from work addiction. Research shows that there is a forum of people who discuss Reading 'as an addiction'. Also, psychology today has acknowledged 'reading as an addiction'-at least has it the idea of 'reading as an addiction'.

Any & All thoughts & Comments R Welcome. jl

the Media Anonymous program Re: Thinking

Post by gk » Mon Sep 18, 2017 2:46 pm

This is a good topic and the Media Anonymous program is precisely for the process addition of excessive compulsive media use and abuse, see :

See : http://MediaAnonymous.org

Please move this question to your ViFrU study desk via FTP in HTML format i.e.: see if Thunderbird can save to HTML ?

however although the "rules" of the BB as stated are that it is for now restricted to ViFrU study desk tech issues ...the idea is to separate the categories of information exchange into sections with dedicated technology for each

Although having a Ubuntu / Linux (UNIX based ) OS via VM is an asset esp. for excellent open source software, most of our advanced software library is based on Win OS

What ver. of Ubuntu, the latest updates are best ?

The beauty of VM is that you can add other platforms like WIN as well as Linux

Here is an example on JorLai_BB of a partially cleaned update on the “New Speak” term “SneakerNet”:

updates to JorLai_BB noted

Congratulations on your first webpage address (URL) …although it was necessary to construct this link from the data in your “JorLai/Bulletine” Board folder …next using HTML authoring tools will enable you to do this easily - “take it EZ” …most computer learning curves are not ”easy”

You may want consider the advantage of BB software as a desktop search engine tool …using ViFrU_BB interactively with your FTP posts would also be an asset i.e.: for now you can post your links related to tech questions and later we can create other forums for other subjects ,,,for now “keep it simple”

Here is the link…examine this URL to follow the progression … the “%” is a space …it is best to create folder and filenames without spaces:

JorLai/Bulletin%20Board/ReadinginTermsofAddiction.html

JorLai/Bulletin%20Board/operative%20-%2 ... liten.html

Here is an example on JorLai_BB of a partially cleaned update on the “New Speak” term “SneakerNet”:

JorLai/Sneakernet.pdf

review and notes:

is that photo of you? or if not qualify the source …then idea is not to replicate images that belong to others in your study environment without proper references and only if they are relevant to your presentations.

i.e.: link to “books.allwomenstalk.com/” needs to be cleaned of clutter – See AdBan protocols –

… run all outside webpages through Ad Blocker and Reader add ins to clean or clean via HTML authoring tools that will remove all the “style sheets” and “Templates” leaving clean copy

…the idea is to have only relevant data

…the net is full of tweets with links that are copied directly for the web

…this practice is counterproductive in terms of research and study indexing, citation and in general is just a vehicle for ad implants

Mount an ISO in Mac OS X

Easily Mount an ISO in Mac OS X

Apr 22, 2008 - 85 Comments
ISO If you’re wondering how to mount an ISO image in Mac OS X, it is very easy. For most ISO images you can mount them simply by double-clicking the ISO image file, and it will go through the auto-mounter app within Mac OS X putting it on your desktop.

If for whatever reason that doesn’t work there are other methods to mount ISO’s within Mac OS X, and we’ll cover ways to do this with the built-in Disk Utility and a more advanced option of using the command line.
